ART 418-Embodied Sympathy

This essay has so many great stuffs for an artist like us to know about when designing. As the writer stated, he wanted a public declaration, visible and easy to interpret. I totally agreed with it. I thinkg it's difficult to express emotions or feelings on our work that are easily recognizable. These days, most people are wearing jewelry for decorations without caring about its meaning.
A lot of jewelry are produced for marketplace. I wouldn't want to say it is a bad thing however, I think it loses its real value or meaning.
"There's a certain kind of craftsperson who imagines what people need-especially in the psychological sense-and the, drawing from her own experience, makes objects that fulfill those needs.
Sharon Church " is her own case study and her observations become her library and database". I think I should start being a library and database of what I do by experimenting many things like her.

I guess sympathy of people and artists are important when buying or designing crafts.
It's right to design things that other people agree with or sympathize

These are the pictures of my first design in a process.

I used PNP sheet, nailpolish,contact paper and sharpie pen for resist.

I like how the etching turned out but the part where mirror is attached( I used tube rivet?) didn't come out nice.
